About ECMO 143

I’m Jonathan Jung, RRT-NPS, an ECMO Specialist and respiratory therapist.

ECMO 143 is a practical ECMO education site built on clinical learning, plain-language explanation, and bedside experience. The newsletter covers ECMO physiology, terminology, devices, troubleshooting, and real clinical scenarios. The goal is simple: make complex ECMO topics clearer and more usable in practice.

I don’t write as the final authority on ECMO. I write as a working ECMO Specialist who studies real clinical questions, keeps learning, and shares what’s useful along the way. I use AI to help with research and clarity; the clinical judgment and decisions are mine.

Why subscribe

Subscribe for practical, bedside-focused ECMO education built for clinicians developing skill and confidence in extracorporeal life support.

What you’ll get

  • Practical ECMO articles and clear breakdowns of complex concepts

  • Bedside-focused learning points and reflections

  • Study tools and structured resources, including materials for ELSO Adult ECMO certification (some free, some paid)

I also write for patients and families at ecmo.life, in plain language without the jargon.

I’m grateful to the clinicians who’ve helped me grow. This site is how I pass useful lessons forward to others learning the craft.
